Welcome Wagon
A wagon, a bench, a cart to drive back and forth
in its track, Welcome Wagon sits in front of Fire Station #3 in Palo
Alto. Images of firefighting equipment are etched into the side of
stainless chassis, but the real imagery is the open hands. They are
at once supporting, caring, accepting, helping, welcoming
hands. The perfect emblem for the community role of the fire fighters
within. The cart is locked into a 12' long track that lets it travel
back and forth. It has a crank at one end to allow you to move it. This
peice is a cousin to my
