Anomal
This set of ten wings is an abstraction of a
creature called Anomalocaris, extinct nearly a half billion years,
known only thru fossils. When the vertical drive bar is swung back and
forth it sets a flywheel spinning which, in turn, powers the wings to wave in a
rhythmic cycle. Anomal lives in the mighty
Bend Science Station in Bend
Oregon. Learn more about the BSS
here. The last thumb above
is a video BSS produced of Bermi and me talking about the project.
