When the hanging bronze
counterweight is shoved, the vertical section swings back and forth. The upper and lower
sections swing and flex in different rhythms, the lower part acting as a pendulum, the
upper part acting as a spring, affecting each other, eventually returning to rest in the
vertical position. Located at 10th and SW Burnside, Portland, OR. Commissioned by the City
of Portland through the Regional Arts and Culture Council.
