Dual Pendulum
The vertical section hangs on a gimbal from the
tripod. When the counterweight at the bottom is shoved, the vertical section swings back
and forth. The upper section acts as a spring while the lower section acts like a
pendulum. The two forces interact, causing the central section to swing and flex in
different rhythms, affecting each other, eventually returning to rest in the vertical
position.
