Open
Up The Doors
A public art project for the HRT, Norfolk VA's transit
authority. The sculpture is mounted on the Bus Maintenance Facility in
Norfolk and powered by a solar panel on the back of the tower. Each pair
of panels slowly opens and closes like the doors of a bus, and each pair
is off-set from the adjacent pair, creating a rhythm moving up and down
the wall. The panels are etched with a map of the region with the main
large roads shown in copper.
